Creating Perspective

We suffer from a crisis of perspective in our lives and our organizations where we confuse more, faster, and better as meaningful outcomes.  We waste time and effort in pursuit of outcomes that don’t satisfy us or even come close to achieving our goals.  In fact, I’ll easily waste an hour of my time driving around aimlessly instead of asking for directions.

But we can stop and we can avoid this meaningless exhaustion in favor of things that actually make an impact.  We only have to gain a little perspective.

Creating perspective is all about:

  • Managing expectations
  • Developing a shared understanding
  • Recognizing the truth and bias in every opinion
  • Understanding the activities that truly make an impact
  • Making decisions based on your values and purpose in the present, not an endstate in the future
  • And, understanding the socially important messages of the movie Joe Dirt.

My goal is to help provide a little perspective, to maximize your effort to success ratio, and to have a little fun while we do it.

Reach out and let me know how you create perspective in your organization or your life.
